In this world of digital overload I have started to trend towards low-tech presentations. I am not really abandoning Power Point, just giving it a rest for a while. I am also starting to insist people turn off their PDAs, Mobile Phones, Laptops and any other digital device that causes distraction.
What is allowed? Simply Pen & Paper.
To some this is a bit harsh. After all, we multi-task the entire day, but is someone really paying attention when they are answering an email about picking up some milk after work or putting out a fire that they really are just throwing a blanket over to deal with later?
Consequently I believe that I end up with an audiance that is actually engaged. Although I do have to get quite creative with the presentation in order to not put the entire audiance to sleep! I also have to get them invovled; there is only so much lecture a person can take.
So my question out to cyberspace.... what are you doing to engage your people in learning??
